What we collect
- What you tell us: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, property details, preferred dates, key and access arrangements, and anything else you choose to share (for example pets, young children or the pests you’ve seen). We may also receive photos you send us.
- Technical information: the IP address a form was sent from (used to stop abuse and repeated submissions), and device and browser information collected by Google reCAPTCHA.
We collect this through the quote and contact forms on this website, by phone and by email. You can ask general questions without giving your name, but we need contact details to quote and book a job.
Why we collect it
To prepare your quote, contact you about it, schedule and carry out the job, invoice you, handle any re-clean or warranty visit, and respond to follow-up questions, and to protect the website from spam and abuse. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
- Our cleaners, only the details they need to do the job.
- Our licensed pest control partner, only when you book pest control: your name, phone number, address or suburb, property and pest details, and whether pets or young children live there, so they can quote, carry out the treatment and handle warranty visits.
- Service providers who help us run the business: our web host (HostGator, which stores enquiries in a private area of its servers that isn’t publicly accessible), our email provider (Google Gmail), spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), and, if enabled, a spreadsheet service we use to back up enquiries. They process data on our behalf.
- Your real estate agent or landlord, only if you ask us to (for example to arrange keys).
- Government agencies or others where the law requires it.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, most likely in the United States (Google and HostGator). We choose providers with strong security practices and share only what’s needed to run the business.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t use analytics or advertising cookies, and doesn’t track you across other websites. Google reCAPTCHA may set its own cookies to tell people from bots. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Security
The website uses HTTPS. Enquiry records are kept in a private area outside the website’s public folders, which only we can access. Internal price estimates are never sent to anyone other than us.
Storage and retention
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet tax obligations (generally up to 5 years for invoices). Enquiries that don’t become jobs are deleted within 24 months.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by calling 0417 044 968 or emailing cleaningnearmeaus@gmail.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
